Director Lei Leads Delegation to France to Deepen China-France Health Cooperation

From May 21-23, 2025, Lei Haichao, Director of the National Health Commission of the P.R.C, led a delegation on an official visit to France.

 

During the visit, Director Lei met with Catherine Vautrin, Minister of Labour, Health, Solidarity, and Families of France in Paris. The two sides held in-depth discussions on bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the health sector, with a particular focus on global health issues.

 

Director Lei highlighted the close collaboration between China and France in health, noting the vibrant exchanges at both governmental and civil levels. He emphasized the significant achievements in areas such as hospital management, emergency medicine, talent development, and infectious disease prevention and control. Lei called for continued joint efforts to support the World Health Organization¡¯s leadership role in global health governance and to promote the building of a global community of health for all.

 

Minister Vautrin praised the strong foundation of China-France health cooperation and expressed confidence in its future. She emphasized the need for international solidarity in addressing global health challenges and affirmed France¡¯s willingness to enhance cooperation with China through both bilateral efforts and multilateral platforms such as the WHO.

 

The Chinese delegation also visited the headquarters of the M¨¦rieux Foundation, the Hospices Civils de Lyon, and bioM¨¦rieux, further engaging with France¡¯s public health and biomedical sectors.
