WHO suggest to decrease the medical difficulty of AIDS patients

    ICASO gave a new report in the world AIDS conference which was held in Vienna. It said, Nearly half of the new AIDS patients are less than 25 years old in the whole world. The phenomenon of young AIDS patients is very serious¡£

    The expert in ICASO pointed out, newer AIDS patients are about 7400 per day in the earth, and about 3300 people’s age is less than 25. UNAIDS’s report in 2008 show that there are 10 million AIDS patients between 15 to 24 years old, and there are 2.5 milllion patients less than 15 years old.

    WHO expressed in the conference, they had regulated the recommend ation of protecting AIDS. It means that when the CD4 cells in AIDS patients are less than 350/cu.mm, the patients should be treated. And in the early time, the number is 200/cu.mm. The expert point out that the new recommend ation means that decrease the medical difficulty of AIDS patients.

    CD4 cell is a important immunological cell in human immune system. The situation of immune system can be sure by monitoring the number of CD4. The CD4 of healthy one shall be 1000-1500/cu.mm. By the new recommend ation, the AIDS patients can be treated when the CD4 cell decrease to 350/cu.mm.

    Some researches show that early treatment can protect AIDS patients away from other diseases like T.B. In fact, many patients were died of T.B. The epidemiology pattern show, if the early treatment implement massively, the death toll of AIDS will decrease 20% in the whole world from 2010 to 2015.

    By the new recommend ation of WHO, the AIDS patients who shall be treated increase from 10 million to 15 million.
