On June 29, Merck announced an investment of approximately 70 million euros to expand its Nantong Life Science Center in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta region. This expansion will significantly increase its high-purity reagent capacity, providing biopharmaceutical companies with thousands of tons of high-purity reagents for quality control and testing each year. Merck signed a related cooperation agreement with the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone.
Merck plans to build a new 40,000 square meter high purity reagent production site in its Nantong Life Science Center and plans to open it in 2026.
Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone (ETDZ), which belongs to Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, was approved by the State Council on December 19, 1984, and is one of the first 14 national economic and technological development zones.
